About the Artist

Colorful public art stacked books with motivational phrases printed about Waunakee excellence in education located outdoors at the public high school featuring artist Michael Kalish.
The Waunakee Community School District is consistently ranked one of the top school districts in Wisconsin.

In 2017, WAPAC wanted to commission a brand new artwork to celebrate Waunakee area teachers, staff, students, and excellence in education.

Professional public artist Michael Kalish was chosen, and he created Illuminating a Path, which is located at the entrance to the Waunakee High School.
